Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Michael had dreams of baseball stardom long before the thought a chefs jacket would be his daily uniform. But after moving out west to attend the California Culinary Academy, he discovered that cooking was the passion he wanted to pursue. When opportunity in New York came knocking, he answered a call that would change his life forever.
Tara almost got stuck in an office job for life in her home state of Florida, but was rescued by a nagging voice in her head that told her food was her true calling. After taking a big leap of faith and moving to New York City to attend the French Culinary Institute (now ICC), she set out on a path of culinary discovery, and after many stops, found out service was her real home.
Michael and Tara want to create a small, smart-casual restaurant that is driven by the local landscape with no set menu and a focus on providing their guests with a delicious dining experience that makes them think, makes them happy, and makes them come back.
